Are your soybeans genetically modified? How do your prices compare to Lumen Foods at soybean.com?

-- Old Git (anon@spamproblems.com), April 21, 1999.

Alot of companies use genetically engineered beans in their products which affect taste, appearance and nutritional value. All of our soybeans are naturally grown. We use a four stage process that is unique and proprietary producing products that have the taste and feel of real ground beef and chicken. In addition, our products maintain their texture and taste during cooking and refrigeration. These products are made from the filet of the soybean known as the soy-isolate, which is the most nutritious part. Years of research on the health benefits of soy have concluded that it helps to lower the risk of coronary heart disease, osteoporosis, prostate and breast cancers and as well reducing elevated cholesterol and the discomforts of menopausal symptoms in women; making them the ideal foods for health conscious consumers. I tried to email you the price list but the item was returned, please email me at m.ferchoff@home.com and I will try to resent it. (error in original address)

Sorry, I have an unlisted e-mail address. But, if you do not know how your prices compare to Lumen Foods, please post the price of the following:

"beef" filet, "burger," and "chicken" chunks.

In addition, please post the shelf life.

This means what? 'Naturally grown' is generally known as a spin phrase for "we're not organic grower's but we don't want to reveal this fact".

It's OK with me if you don't grow using organic protocals. Just state it as thus please.

Sorry folks. Posters of ADVERTISEMENTS which aren't specified as such in the heading begin life with one strike against.

I regret to inform you that your reluctance to publicly post your information, either at your web site or to this forum, renders me uninterested in your product.

The difference between naturally grown versus organically grown. In order to state organically grown you need to be registered and meet all their requirements and red tape. We use the same guidelines as organically grown but do not have the certification. If you need further information I can get it for you.

As for the pricing we have 8 different food items. The meat replacements come in 3 sizes on containers. A 2lb, 5kg (11.2 lbs) and 15 kg. (33 lbs). We also have 3 packages - Survival , Basic Survival and Y2K readiness Pack. To give you an example: the Y2K pkg. feed a family of four - 3 meals per day for about 100 days. You get two 15kg. (33 lb.)pails of chicken and beef dehydrated. When reconstituted it makes 165 kg (330 lbs)which is 1200 - 125 g (appro. 5 oz.) servings The cost is $550.00 retail or $450.00 wholesale. With this package you get a receipe book also. The product will last at least 18 months shelf life once opened. This is just one example and I personally find it is easier to email or fax the complete price list to anyone interested. My typing skills need some improvements. Sorry if that offends you. I hope this answers your questions. If not let me know, if I don't know the answer I will try to find out from the company and get back to you.
