Microsoft Internet Explorer 4 is better than Netscape 4. Frontpage 98 is better than Netscape Composer.

Netscape has to work harder to catch up!

Yes, IE5 is surely better in terms of functionalities Netscape 4.5 now as it supports viewing of Chinese Big5/GB without the need to install Chinse viewer. But then Netscape is just going open source and currently a lot of integration effort is spent on coordinating various top programmers work from around the world to enhance the browser. I am sure the next release of Netscape will be a major breakthrough with very stable and clean code. For further info, go to www.mozilla.com

What's the point of offering 1.5 million lines of junk codes to the public? Nobody is gonna look at it anyway, or even attempt to better it. What Netscape need is a total rewrite... sorry to say that.

This is the first major test of 'Bazaar theory'. Linux and Perl are so clean and stable because of fast development cycle and frequent release to be scrutinized by the public. The major part of Netscape will still be evolved by the company itself. However, the public is encouraged to take on development of plugins or a certain module like Netchatting to enhance the browser's functionalities. I seriously wish that this approach can prove to be successful and encourage other software vendors to do similar things so that Microsoft can be thrown of of business soon.

And even now Netscape is not as buggy compared to IE especially in terms of security and stability.

Netscape rulez the world. IE5.0 is just a huge package to include chinese fonts to those who don't need it too. And it's integration makes it sucks .... sad to say that ... the reason why Windows boot up slow ... that is because IE has been loaded and it's called Explorer .... I think I can use Netscape to explore my computer too .... I hope you get what I mean .... Micro$oft is a big sucker!

IE is still better than netscape.... starts up faster, runs smoother and does not hang all the time..

Finally I have to agree with WP. IE as of now (5.5) is definitely better and more stable. It is also much more forgiving in terms of parsing CSS/HTML.
