I don't want I have heard, or my neighbor of a neighbor says.

Give me some hard facts. AS many people out there working on 2YK or somehow has contact with people that are not tight lipped, Give me some information.

Surley some discussions are taking place in conferences and business where people are not afraid to talk. If you are afraid to give your name and sure facts, your head will be at risk long with all of ours. Maybe more so since you put money above your country and its people.

I don';t want you to loose your job, But there must be some information that we are not receving good or bad.

I'm ready for either one.

Lon, all the good news is invariably shouted down by those seeking redemption through the apocalypse. People like Andy (and all the other names he uses...) see good news as anathema to the Cult of Death they have so warmly embraced.

Only "good news" I've heard:

We are beginning to hear above testing. Limited, bits and pieces, and only in one or two companies or utilities at a time, and incomplete though it may be - we are BEGINNING to hear about testing.

Now, that also means that the "people" controlling the release of information nationally are apparently so easger for "good news" that they don't realize this tentative beginning - or slow trickle of test reports - good, bad, indiffferent or incomplete doesn't matter - means that not enough are testing to get the enough companies over the "bell curve" before the end of the year.

In other words, we should be overwhelmed by more good news every day than we can wade through - with literally three or four entire COMPANIES of the Fortune 500 declaring themselves Y2K compliant EVERY day. Several thousand counties, and smaller businesses should be declaring themselves compliant very day.

Instead, today, we heard about 1 test in one GM plant, and reports from that story of several other tests done in several other GM plants.

I want to see the dawn in its full glory - not noon yet (with 50% complete) just the real breaking of dawn. But all I hear is the vast gloomy silence of a dark night sky - with a sprinkling of stars to tell me that some light is being generated somewhere.
