Anil, Thanks for fixing it - I realized I'd missed the start " in the URL address.This is my first submission here, and one of my first shots at wildlife.
Equipment Info : Canon Elan II, 75-300 lens at 300. Kodak Gold 100. Scanned on HP Scanjet 4C.

For your first few shots at wildlife, this is a good one even though the subject is not facing the camera. Composition is also good.

Anand, you're welcome. It's nice that you chose a vertical and that the meerkat has room in the direction he is looking. It would be interesting to see a front shot of this same "standing" behaviour. That way we can see the paws, more of the white fur on his belly, and the face and eyes. A different coloured background may also help the subject stand out more.

anand, I like this picture alot. If this is your first wildlife shot, keep it up. I like the composition. Straight on shots of wildlife are common and can be uninteresting. This angle lets you see enough of the animal and imparts a nice feel to the picture. It's also sharp and has nice soft color and the background color fits the color of the subject.
