Westergaard: Media often cynical. WIRED: First big print media to be cynical. Jim Lord retires and Wired about-faces on the same day. Is this coincidence?

Sorry that title's so long. I think it covers my thought for the day.

I am not sure what happened with Wired. Did I miss something somewhere? Are you refering to the Wired Magazine article? Please let me know. Thanks

PJ,

Are you referring to the positive Y2k-related articles now at Wired News? About the Federal Reserve System, stock markets, and FAA?

Anybody got this figured out yet?

Pointed this out in another thread. WIRED magazine is now owned by Conde Nast, who also publish Vanity Fair. "Wired Digital" is still run by the folks who used to publish WIRED. If you see two different "takes" on Y2K, it's might be due to the fact that you're seeing two different editorial groups.

It appears that the folks at Conde Nast are somewhat less optimistic about Y2K than the CalArts grads over at WIRED.
