In an ambitious experiment aimed at assuring the government and the flying public that there will be no year 2000 surprises in the air Jan. 1, the Federal Aviation Administration on Saturday night will flip ahead the calendar about eight months and launch a Lear jet over Colorado and into uncharted territory.
