Dance of the Magnolia:

Mamiya RB67 90mm normal lens on tripod - Koda Ektachrome 64 - 1/60@f32- Used the same technique as previous magnolias. This was somehow lost in a pile of my forgotten photographs. Encouraged by last week's comment from Carl Andreas!

This composition has an even greater appeal to me than last week's. The central portion of the flower is very well placed and vivid. The upper petals are perfectly and completely rendered and the one bottom petal that intersects the frame is fine. One of your best!

I agree with Gary, but the cut-off petal does bother me a little bit. Maybe I don't remember quite right, but I seem to recall that others of your single blossoms also had something cut off. If I'm right, does it have anything to do with the support of the flowers in the studio setup?

Gee... sure wish I had some photos like this lost in a pile somewhere!

The cut-off petal doesn't bother me... in fact, since it's the only part of the image that bleeds off, it somehow lends a kind of foundation to the whole thing. Great lighting...

Bahman, what type of strobe setup are you using? (How many heads, diffusion, etc.)
