NEED ADVICE RE PENTAX PZ-1p OR ????

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Camera Equipment : One Thread

I need a 35mm SLR that can handle both multi-exposures and panorama. The only one so far that I've found that has the flexibility that I need is the PZ-1p. I believe it's an older model (1995?) and I'm concerned that the electronics on it may be dated. Any thoughts on this or any other camera that I should be looking at. (I've already checked out the ZX-10 & Minolta XTsi.) Thanks.

Do you realize that the panorama feature in a 35mm camera is simply cropping the top part of the frame? It's not a real panorama feature. To get a real panaorma feature you must buy a camera made to take panaormas. I think Hassy makes a 35mm that takes real panormas by using about 1.5 frames.

Stan is right. I have a PZ-1p and they are great cameras. It will do almost everything my new F-100 will, but they are not as rugged. On the other hand the PZ-1p will do a few things that the F-100 will not. The PZ-1p panorama feature simply takes a 35mm frame and crops the top and bottom. When it is developed the printer makes a long narrow print, but it is not true panarama. If this is ok for your application, go ahead and get one, you will like the PZ-1p.
