Here is the latest from Lehman's, the non-electric store. The article discusses their backlog and also the growth in Y2K awareness which caused it. I found this link on the worldnetdaily site.

I guess it depends on what you order. A friend of mine ordered a grain mill and a hanging dehydrator and it only took about a month to arrive. However, we don't have many months left!

Hello, I have ordered from Lehman's for at least 7 years and was blown away when I sat on hold for over 15 minutes about 2 months ago....was just trying to order a few things....they told me that they were backordered on several items and that in addition to the time it takes for them to receive the items, their shipping dept. was 4-6 weeks behind. I am receiving some items now with others not due to arrive until June they say. Great company and folks, just overwhelmed. Kristi

Which is why I know the route there better than the route to my Mother-in-law's place. If you want more than one item (always depending on what it is) and live within 5 hours travel time, it's best to GO THERE in body. Besides, the place is WAY COOL!! Chuck, a night driver

Hey Chuck - if you are ever in or near Union City, Tennessee (South a bit of Paducah, KY) make sure you stop at Dixie Gun Works. That is another way cool place that sells old style stuff.

Paul,

Don't forget that the "old style stuff" doesn't force you to go jump through the Brady Bill hoops. I think I might just have to add one of thos antiques to my collection. I think I fancy that new Thompson 50 cal. percussion antique.
