I was shooting a wedding today and during the formals my camera would light up with the MF warning and my aperture display would go to 0.0

Details: Elan IIe 28-105 zoom 380EX on bracket with shoe cord 2 Av mode set at f/5.6 or 8.0 shutter speed = 125th Quantum B1+ and module (of course)

So when this would happen I would either twist the FTM ring or sometimes I had to pull off the lens and reattach it. It wasn't a huge problem, I just looked lame in front of my new boss and the wedding party. Any thoughts?

Answers

Sounds like a typical bad contact problem between the camera and lens. Try cleaning the contacts on the lens (pencil eraser is good).
