Anybody else see/hear Clinton's speech?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I particularly liked the Skull and Crossbones on the airplane behind him...

Day 9 of air assaults... HUGE numbers of refugees... (1/2 a million?) Albania and Macedonia worried about being destabalized... Peter Jennings - "It certainly seems to be the policy at the moment; bombing, more bombing, and more bombing..."

This situation REALLY sucks (ps)...

I heard his whole speech there in Norfolk. This President is without question, a meglomaniac. Not only has he refered to himself as "One of the great leaders that happens along only every hundrfed years or so", but this situation in Kosovo is all about HIM. His desire for greatness. His desire for a legacy.

This guy is our modern-day Hitler. NEVER have I heard so much smoothness and emotional wrenching before! He's a MASTER!! If I din't know how to analyze facts and strain thru the state-run media, I might be a blind follower.

There are reports on the radio today that Clinton ignored warnings from NATO leaders about the dangers of getting involved there, and that Clinton's POLICY ADVISORS pushed this policy forward ---for HIS legacy!!!!

This guy systematically disarmed our military and at the same time deployed our forces more times around the globe than in any other time of peace!

Clinton has signed our death warrants folks.

It's only a matter of time now before we shall reap the wrath of so many we have offended in the world thanks to this President.

Say a good-bye prayer....and dig your bunker quickly.

WWIII is about to begin.

Gee INVAR,

tell us what you *really* think!

:-(

Jolly doesn't like Klinton either.

Clinton now has a legacy. The Third Balkan War....

WWIII already began, March 24, 1999.

I despise Willie as much as anyone, but it might be time to chill a little bit. Dianne Squire found the site:

And, this intelligence organization rationally believes a broader war will be avoided. They say we rapidly are moving towards a negotiated end to the conflict. Check it out.

Invar,

"There are reports on the radio today that Clinton ignored warnings from NATO leaders"

Gee, let me guess, that wouldn't by any chance have been Rush Limbaugh, the biggest liar in the world, would it?

Let's see some proof!

What a bunch of losers on this thread. You lost the impeachment drive, and now you want to see a couple million people die. Get a life.

Latest news just heard on NPR:

36,000 Kosovars crossed the border yesterday. 630,000 forced to leave their homes. Another aircraft carrier sent to the region.

Billy Jeff is supposed to speak from the White House shortly...

Personally, I think the guy deserves an Oscar...

INVAR -

Wasn't it VP Gore who referred to Mr. Clinton as "one of the great leaders that happens along only every hundred years or so"? Could have sworn I heard that just recently.

You remember Mr. Gore: the man who said that he's the "Father of the Internet"...

pshannon, I do agree, it does suck. War is awful, but perhaps we need to focus on why he was there. May I point out some facts? Having been stationed in Norfolk, my hubby aboard a destroyer, many friends are in the battlegroups that have recently left Norfolk. Fact #1, media got all screwed up, he was at NAS, which is a Naval Air Station in Virginia Beach, not Norfolk. We used to live close to NAS that is how I know that. He was there to address and comfort those who are in the military as well as those loved ones awaiting their hopefully 'safe' return. When he stated "America takes care of its own" he was telling the TRUTH. In combat, once these 3 were captured, it increased moral in the military, not decreased it. As for the rest of his speech, well, what should he have said? Military moral was very low in 1992-1993, my husband went out on a 6 month med cruise, ended up over by Iraq and it was hell on my nerves. When he finally did get back into port, he was immediately sent back out to pull dead children out of the water during the Haiti exodus. When he was done, and it came time to reinlist, he opted out. Right now, he is inactive reserve status, IF it gets bad, he will have to go. Russia's involvement is the scarey part. I believe we all know their position is that of a spy nature, however, each day the ships and aircraft change codes so it will be very difficult to monitor what/when we do what we do. I am not saying that we are right for being there, I am saying, Sons, husbands, dads, moms, etc...are over there. Let us SUPPORT them...and if anyone has a better solution, share it. If not, then let those who are there for US know we care. These men/women see footage of whats going on here. Anti Demonstrations are very disheartening. Last week my hubby went Downtown to counter demonstrate those who are burning our flags and carrying signs stating HATO, quit your bombing, he did this for those we know and love. I am not attempting to flame, but share.

Fondly remembering all those who gave me love and support when my hubby was in harm's way.
