Welp, This Friday night, my friend Danny Rodriguez and myself will be leaving my work at Sega GameWorks at 5:00pm to head to the west coast. Tampa area that is. Twin Galaxies is having a Tampa Bay Video Game High Score tournement at a arcade over there that's drawing alot of attention. The news release on the TG page about this tourney actually quoted from the manager that this event has inspired even the Daytona USA and Galaga World Champion of Miami to show up and go for some new world records. Pretty cool! In fact, I just got off the phone an hour ago with Walter Day, and he told me he got a call from the manager at the arcade saying this guy can get around 9M on Galaga! He'll be there to challenge me from Winter Park about an hour north. This ought to be interesting! My first challenge! :) This is actually good for me, because it gears me up even more for the monster Twin Galaxies Classic tourney May 7-9th in New Hampshire. I hope some mamer's can go to this, unfortunately I talked to Joust God, and he said he probably couldn't make it. Bummer. What about Greg (Angry)? I know your from the states man! There's also got to me a few others from the states that should consider going. The owner of the 500+ game arcade (110 being original classics before 85'!) can't keep up with his e-mail about this tournement! There's even going to be a reporter from London that's coming to cover the story!! now that's cool! Also numerous reporters for newspaper, radio, and tv stations coming to cover the event. Many are from another state! The last message I posted about this tournement was back sometime, so here's the url to the FunSpot arcade and info regarding the tournement. The TG page also has it all over their page as well. Hope to see some familiar faces!

PS I already went over the list of games for the tournement and found at least 4 games for each player that no one can touch them on! according to the MARP page. So there's even more of a reason to go right there! The first thing I looked for in the list was Galaga, Arkanoid, Tetris, and Dig Dug! As well as many others I'm going to take a crack at the world record that's listed in the TG book. One such game I almost took was Defender on tournement settings (5 men only) I got 170,500 last week in front of Walter Day at Grand Prix Golf O Rama in Dania. Just missing 2nd by 4,500 and 1st by 60k!
