Hi, I've posted a much better statement on this at http://y2k.inode.org/dejager.htm

This after Peter called again, upset about the confrontational style of the first one. Also after some reflection on how to find common ground, hold authorities accountable (thanks Henry) and promote community preparedness.

It's titled: Why we still need to prepare for Y2K even if some say "Doomsday Avoided"

First paragraph:

"Peter de Jager's article Doomsday Avoided is confusing many people. One reason may be its double message: that we have avoided doomsday, and that we must discredit the survivalists, the extremists, the Gary Norths, those that want the End of the World. The new section he has added to the article, showing his reaction to his critics, reinforces this double meaning."

Before I broadcast any further full statements, I'll let comments come in on this one first.

Regards,

Terry
