After developing a few films in Kodak D-76, I was wondering if the preparation had been done properly... Can anyone tell me what is reaaly 1:1 dilution??? (I did as in the can, but all films are OVER developed. Thank you, Dario Silva, Portugal

1:1 dilution means equal parts of developer and water. So if your tank holds 16 ounces you would mix 8 oz of developer with 8 oz of water to make a one-time use solution. If you are working with liters, the same thing applies -- 250ml + 250ml = 500 ml total volume of solution.

Yah I agree to the explainaton above but still going further, I would ask you to just check if you are setting the film speed (ISO) properly. B'cos I had made simillar mistake when I shifted from Illford 100 to Tmax 400 Another thing to check is if all the negs are EVENLY overexposed or else. If else that might be due to improper aggitation fashion. Thankx Shreepad

The other thing to check is your developer temperature. You must be careful when developing, and make sure your technique is correct; then, you can deviate from it if you wish. Also, under-agitation, as mentioned, will result in one side of your roll being more heavily developed than the other.
