Does anyone have a report on how this past weekend's y2k simulation testing on Wall Steet went?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Pardon if this is already in another thread. I haven't seen it. This is the second weekend of testing. During the first weekend, several people on this forum mentioned blips they heard on television by ABC, etc. I haven't heard anything about the second weekend. Let us know what you hear.

a - ROTFL.

Puddintame - I haven't heard anything.

PS

I was also wondering if anyone has heard anything about the GPS test that was done two or three weeks ago?

A, will the breakfast buffet have champagne and caviar? Also, will the Cohibas handed out after the "spin the results" meeting be genuine Havanas or just the Central American knock-offs?

Pardon me, but does anyone have any Grey Poupon?

How about toilet paper?

Getting back to the subject, this is somewhat disconcerting. This message has been posted for several hours and no news of the tests. Has nobody even heard some happy spin on this testing? This response posted 9:20 pm ET.

Wall St. guys could defecate nickles out their backside and the doomsayers and GIs (gullible idiots) would not be happy. Why bother asking?

-- Y2K Pro (2@641.com), March 15, 1999.

That's sure not happy spin.

Participants in Wall Street test are bound to secrecy the same as audited banks are prohibited from making any disclosures of results.

Sorry, news nil.

Dear "Chip-on-the-Shoulder" Y2KPro:

You think you're pretty clever, don't you? I've never known this group to retreat from an intelligent, stimulating exchange of opinion with an articulate, intelligent contributor.

You may be very clever, but the snarl in your words telegraphs a lack of wisdom. Your presentation skills need to elevate a few notches before you're considered the "Voice of Reason." You sound like a bad impression of Michael Douglas in "Wall Street."

Now THATS comedy!

Watchful, The secrecy requirements are being selectively obeyed. Last weekend they were outspoken about the results. Why, do you suppose, the sudden reticence?

Took the words right out of my mouth. I expect to see much more of this in the near future.
