Went surfing to a few places I haven't been in a while...remembered this web site for the dumbest quotations about Y2K:

Dumb quotations about Y2K

http://www.duh-2000.com

A sample: "Vice President Al "Mr. Information Superhighway" Gore weighs in on Y2k: "We feel, and the Defense Department feels, that problem is not going to be a problem. Of course, it can't be a problem. We won't allow it to be a problem. ... We're confident that it is going to be solved, but we're going to be doubly, triply and quadrupally confident that it's going to be solved before September of this year." Wow. And we'll bet you didn't even know "quadrupally" was a real word! Quoted on San Jose Mercury News Gore says U.S. will be ready for Y2K February 28, 1999. Submitted by Bill Adsit."

I bet he doesn't mess around. Al ("beavers can knaw on my shins and I can't feel a thing") Gore.

"Mr. Eloquent" has recently claimed to be the father of the internet! Is Woody Allen secretly advising the VP?

When I read this, the persona of Roger Rabbit immediately came to mind. :-)

Now don't pick on the VP. They probably don't let him have outside access. He may think the internet is the White House server. <:)=

We must remember that Al Gore could have spoken out about Y2K as early as late 1995, when he first learned about it. I wonder how successful his presidential candidacy will be after Y2K hits?
