With regard to Bruce Webster's comments on the senate report...

"-- The report also firmly debunks the notion in some Y2K circles that the Clinton Administration will use Y2K as a pretext to impose martial law and even suspend the 2000 elections. In doing so, it substantiates what I have said when asked whether I thought such a course were likely or even possible, namely that neither party in Congress would tolerate such an act for even an hour."

I love these off hand remarks, don't you? It makes the suggestion that nothing will happen, but doesn't answer how the congress is supposed to address the problem. My recollection is that they have no say so, that is at least for six months.

And what, pray tell, are they supposed to do about it??? The constitutionally challenged want to know.????

Oh, and does that line (congress won't allow it)apply to a domestic terrorist attack too?

Be a little more original with your nom de plume, 'K?

The real Mutha.

When two trolls go walking, the first one does the talking ....

Point of order here--

"Mutha" sometimes kvetches-- "Mutha" disagrees with some frequency-- "Mutha" is not a "go along to get along" person -- "Mutha" (in this not-so-humble person's opinion) is sometimes wrong --

But Mutha is not a troll.

I have received no remuneration in cash or kind for this testimonial.
