Same tree, different light

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Nature Photography Image Critique : One Thread

This is the same tree as last week's post (live oak sun rise). This time the light is backlit fog and I've moved up to emphasize the tree form instead of the sky. The tree is near my home and I visit it often because I like to see how different light changes the image. I promise to post a different subject next week. Canon AE1, 20mm, velvia

VERY NICE!!

If there were any way to bring a little out of the highlights (cause it's sooo hot there), or just a tad out of some of the darker shadows, then I think it would print really well. Maybe a pro could get something out of the highlights....and I'd definitly would want to have this one on my wall!! Great job!

I love how you've moved in on this shot and how the resulting perspective, combined with this kind of light, really emphasizes the trunks and the branches as forms, especially on the middle tree.

Larry, again you have managed to perfectly capture the light. I really love the base of the trees. Excelent Job.

Larry - I think it's good to show several versions of the "same" subject. I proves the point that there's many good photographs to be made of every subject. This is a very appealing image that I'd be pleased to hang on my wall - if I hung things on my walls.
