Does anyone know an online source where I could buy a reasonably priced Kerosine heater? My area is wiped clean. I am trying not to panic.

Deborah,

Don't forget about yard sales, flea markets, camping equipment stores and military surplus.

I got mine at Home Depot - it's not a very original answer, but it worked here. Will they keep them available through summer? don't know.

Kevin,

Thanks, I've tried that & I have a bit of concern buying somthing potentially dangerous used. I don't have any experience using somthing like this, which just adds to my concern.

Robert,

I have searched high & low locally, they will not stock heaters again until fall. Which I suppose in the land of retail, means July.

Anyone,

I have a phone number to order a Kero Sun (1-888-537-6786) which I plan to do later today. If anyone has reason to believe these to not be a good product. Please let me know. THANK YOU!!!

Deborah,

Sometimes hardware stores will order something for you.

Deborah: Try http://www.msiwix.com They stock kerosun & Toyo stoves. Toyos being my favorite. Or search on ( toyo+stoves) for a list of dealers. Good Luck...Dennis

Kerosun and toyo are made in the same factories, i think, from the box on my Kerosun by Toyo.

Almost any kerosene stove that uses a cylindrical wick is going to be based on teh same technology, so they are all basically the same thing. the modern ones tend to have mirrirs to direct the heat, and to have anti-tip-over shutoffs. DON'T let someone tell you that there is a monoxide problem with one or another brand or age of stove. They ALL consume oxygen and produce some Monoxide and dioxide. Hence the need to ventilate the room they are in.

Everyone,

Hey Deborah - another avenue you might want to check out is two catalogs that we use regularly...Grainger and Northern. Both have pretty good prices, especially Northern if you can get a few people together to order in quanity...they discounted our generators by $200.00 each when we ordered 6 of them and they were already on sale, Good Luck - Mom

Deborah : The reason Toyos are may favorite, is I own 4 kerosine/#1 fuel-oil stoves. They are simple to do maintenance on myself, replacement parts are shiped fast and a technical support phone line in case I have any questions. Sorry I took so long to get back you, but our PC has been a busy place today . Good Luck...Dennis
