Does anyone know of an economical Y2K-compliant credit card terminal company ?

One of my family member is looking for a Y2K-compliant credit card terminal co. which does not have require the signing of a 2year or longer lease? He has called around and some require signing a 3 or 4 year lease! To buy is a bit too expensive. He has a home business and is concerned that if he closes his business, he would be hard pressed to find a buyer to pick up the remainder of the lease. Please tell me your experience. Is it worth it to have a terminal at home to verify address of customers? I have heard some company won't cover if your customer charged with a stolen card and happen to know the victim's home address. Thanks

Try CardService International.

Used them for years, with previous companies. I have an "older" (1 1/ 2 years) terminal, that needs a compliance patch. (Don't use it much right now).

CardService is national, located in California. Think their web-site is just...

"E" me if you need my rep's name and phone #.
