PAX TV ran an hour long special on Y2k last night (Mpls/St. Paul) area. There were actually *commercials* urging people to buy before it's too late! ("Now *YOU* can own your very own Y2k emergency kit! Complete with wind-up, solar-powered flashlight/radio, food samples and high-powered rif..."--uh-well, you get the picture.) :>)

This is the first time I've seen *anything* like this up here. Something's happening....

I have to admit Scarlett, when I saw that ad for the Y2K prep kit I was laughing out loud. I can just imagine people running down the streets srcreaming and clutching their little Y2K boxes. For just $19.99 you TOO CAN HAVE PEACE OF MIND!... lol

I guess it's not a bad idea to get people more aware by giving them that little starter kit but still... if things pan out they way the Millenium Fears show predicts then that Y2K prep kit is going to be about as useful as cup of water against a forest fire. Oh well, it did make me laugh anyway, and the wind up flashlight/radio might not be a bad idea.

My favorite line from the commercial... paraphrasing... "If things don't get really bad, you'll be glad to know that you haven't spent a lot of money."

OTOH, if things DO get bad, you'll feel like the world's biggest idiot, & then you'll die slowly.

So there you are.
