I expect that Bill will fight quite hard to preserve the Washington he can give Hillary (since he kind of owes her a big one) if Mrs. Clinton truly wants to go to Washington by way of New York. This in spite of the GAO report...

Up until this morning, I occasionally joined in all the joking about Mr. Clinton's inability to manage his zipper. After reading today's WSJ commentary about the Juanita Broaddrick story, I no longer will do so.

Being a New Yorker, I gotta throw in my US$0.02

Hillary Clinton does not have the least bit of a chance of carpetbagging her way to a seat in the Senate through New York. Nobody here REALLY likes her. (there are a few deluded feminists who do actually like her. feminists with brains can see right through her) New York politics are so tough and the technicalities are so mind-boggling that it can take YEARS to get on the ballot for the local school district. And besides, Rudy Guiliani, who the entire state has a love- hate relationship with, is going to RIP HER TO SHREDS, whether he gets into the race or not. She is going to be horse meat if she tries to muscle her way into this state, I can tell you that right now. My prediction is that in the next senate race here, the Republican candidate will beat any other Democrat by a small margin. The Republican candidate will beat Hillary Clinton by a wide margin.

BTW - people talk about the fact that Robert Kennedy carpetbagged his way into the Senate in NY. But the Kennedys and Bouviers had plenty of ties to New York. Also, the emotional atmosphere was different, his brother having been killed and all. NOBODY has any sympathy of any kind whatsoever for the Clintons. (except maybe for Chelsea)
