Hi,

I bought a Minox GL, SN 4072420 running on 2 Eveready 2L76 batteries. Are these the right batteries?

Thanks,

sr

2L76 is equivalent to Varta CR1/3N, Duracell DL1/3N 3v lithium battery. It is the right battery. Need a pair of two.

I too have just bought a 35GL, SN4138700, my first Minox, from an online auction in the UK. I admit I had been unaware of the battery issue until finding this site, and e-mailed Leica in the UK about the part needed. They gave me the name of a Minox specialist who was most helpful and the replacement part, including the two batteries is on its way to me. The cost was #13 plus #1 p&p, which seems reasonbly priced. The specialist's name and address is as follows: MB Hobbies, 426 Bradgate Road, Newton Linford, LE6 0HA. Tel:(01530) 242734. Hope that helps anyone in a similar position.

The Exell Model S27PX battery (~$6 in the USA) is a 6.0-Volt battery that is the same size as the old PX27 (which was 5.6-volts). See details at: www.photobattery.com

Radioshack has a battery number 23-265 that used in pairs will work in a MINOX 35 GL. I have a MINOX GL nad I just ordered 2 of these batteries (they are a bit smaller in diameter) but I put them in the receptacle Plus side up and they worked just fine. They are $5.00 each. Some of the replies to question mentioned a liner 4mm or so, I did'nt use anything and they may be loose in ther but they are working. The spring in the cover holds them down and steady.

I purchased 2 DL1/3N batteries at Radio Shack, used about 2-3 turns of electrical tape to hold batteries together. This also keeps the batteries from "jiggling" inside the battery compartment.
