Awareness indicators

My recent visits to SAM's, Home Depot, and Lowe's has revealed the following:

Lowes (1 store)...generators (0), pitcher pumps (0) 10 backordered

Home Depot (3 stores)..generators (0)

SAM's (2 stores)..generators (0)

One of the SAM's had a spooky sight. The risers in the three can goods aisles were empty. The only stock was on the floor. You could stand in back aisle and see all the way down to the candy with no obstructions. 50 lb bags of rice were plentiful however.

I frequent these stores often. The above observations are not normal for this area except in the threat of a hurricane.

MoVe Immediate.

I was in Wally World yesterday and they were completely sold out of their Coleman stove fuel. Last week they had 1/2 long shelf full of it. No wicks, had oil, 5 packages of STERNO, several different types of Coleman stoves, lots of propane bottles, no wooden matches, low supply of TP and paper towels. Sold out on many of their canned good items like stew and chili. Few cans of SPAM, no SamsChoice canned lunch meat (usually sells for 99 cents a can). Every week there's a church putting on a Y2K awareness meeting. I didn't ask about shotgun sales but will next time I go. This is the first of the month, people get paid and buy while they have the money.

What area of the country do you guys live in? I live in Oklahoma and haven't noticed any shortages yet. Does living in Ok mean that we will be less affected because we have less interconnectness (I think)or that we are too dumb to GI? At any rate, I'm taking advantage of this land of plenty to have my shelves stocked fully. I'M not dumb.
