I'm trying something found in a book, Cooking with Stored Foods, by Carlene Tejada and Carroll Latham--Storing Eggs in Water Glass. Water glass is another name for sodium silicate. Ordered the s.s. at a drugstore I knew mixed compounds--$6 for 30 oz. According to authors, it's possible to keep fresh eggs for several weeks while they are suspended in a solution of water and s.s. We'll see. Appreciate all the info and jokes I find here on this forum. newbie
