I need one or more photos of P-S heavyweight sleepers that were used on the rear of SR Tennesseean. These cars were painted silver to match the lightweight cars. I have heard that they were stripped to match the streamlined cars, and may have had added skirts.

Several years ago I got a slide of the 12 section- one drawingroom heavyweight Pullman "Knickerbocker" in a SR passenger car slide set I bought from Harry Stegmaier. It shows the car in the postwar silver shadowlined paint scheme. It was a pretty fair slide with the paint still good. The heavyweight Pullmans painted for the Tennessean were plain heavyweights without any skirting. Before the war they were just silver, a shade that Pullman called aluminum bronze. Shadowlining was developed after the war to simulate stainless corrugation. Also there were two 80 foot baggage cars, 577 and 593, that were painted silver and shadowlined for the Tennessean. Hayne Shop converted them from old heavyweight Pullmans in 1948. Mr. Stegmaier still advertises his slide sets in the Trains Magazine classifieds.
