CUT OR BIG

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Bodybuilding : One Thread

I HAD BEEN SOMEWHAT CHUBBY MOST OF MY LIFE. I HAVE A LAYER OF BLUBBER(NOT TO THE EXTENT OF BEING BEING CALLED A FATASS OR OBESE) AROUND MY BODY AND I'VE BEEN WORKING OUT FOR ABOUT 5 MONTHS CONSISTENTLY AND I'VE NOTICED CHANGES ON MY BODY. BUT I SEEM TO BE GETTING BIGGER RATHER THAN CUTTER. ANY WORKOUT SUGGESTIONS? IS THE LAYER OF BLUBBER ANY FACTOR?? SINCERELY, SAM

Sam, the reason you are getting bigger is because you are building or toning the muscle underneath the "fat". The muscle is growing and a a result the fat will be pushed outward. In order to get the fat off so you can see the muscle underneath you need to watch the calories you consume and begin or continue an aerobic program (stationary bike, jogging, aerobic classes, ect). Do not pay attention to the weight scales, they are very misleading, because muscle weighs more than fat. It takes time to get cut. How much time depends on your determination and goals. Good Luck!

Make sure your protein/carb intake is adequate.Example if you weigh 200 lbs. you need 200 grams protein daily carbs should be kept at no more than 250 grams a day.No starcy/complex carbohydrates after 2 pm.You want your body to resort to bodyfat for energy.Water intake is a must multiply your weight by 0.7 = ounces of water you need daily or minimum 1 gallon. Are you taking any fatburners?Keep your cardio minimum 4 times a week preferebly in the morning on empty stomach. All of these are a must if you want to maximize fatloss. You put in 20% you get 20% results.Remember the key is to increase the metabolic rate while dropping fat.GOOD LUCK.
