Y2K: A metaphor of the healing journey

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I just had a thought. With all the talk of how Clinton is preparing us for "cyber-terrorism", which really means Y2K, it's like a national version of when someone places blame outside themselves for their own problems, when it's actually a problem within themselves. Y2K is like a cancer, and the "head" (Clinton) has decided to tell the "body" (us citizens) that we are in imminent danger of someone attacking our computers from outside the body of our nation (or from inside). It's classic! The battlefield medicine approach is being used here, since that's what our national approach to health is, and therefore what people will understand (that's one theory). Often when someone gets cancer, they don't get that their body is diseased as a result of their lifestyle, including emotional patterns. So they try to use external technology to "fix it". And sometimes it works, but often it doesn't. When it works there is often a change in lifestyle also.

So, maybe a good way to think of Y2K is as a global cancer that will very soon start spreading faster than we can contain it. That's the danger. And the solution is to identify the real causes of the cancer and deal with it at that core level. To me it all comes back to lifestyle. Is it healthy and sustainable or diseased and unsustainable?

We will soon come to know very well the meaning of unsustainable...

Sorry to be such a downer, but I would push your excellent metaphor even further and liken the human race itself, in its totality, to a cancer on the face of the earth.

I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.

For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other;

yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.

Congratulations, Dave. You are cosmically conscious.

Just make sure you have enough beans and rice...

E-coli, Runway... Try to understand this...(Heb 11:37 KJV) "They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;"

(Heb 11:38 KJV) "(Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth."

(Heb 11:39 KJV) "And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:"

The Bankers Age will end, y2k or not but people will be here after. People are not the problem.

Want some preaching? Try me out on my email address, it's real. Be honorable and do not bomb me and I will give you some info that will (if you have a mind for it) straighten things out.

I don't dish out "Jesus is so sweet" garbage. I'll give you...(Exo 15:3 KJV) "The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name."

Thanks Dave,

When you start focusing on spontaneous remission and alternative healing, you'll recognize that healing without an "invasive" strategy is not only possible but occurs daily.

It's a sign of a change in consciousness and choices. Sort of like Y2K community action groups forming at the grassroots levels.
