I am interested in communicating with faculty at APA approved Doctoral programs in Counseling or Clinical Psychology who have developed, or are interested in developing a specialty track in Sports Psychology. I am a clinical psychology PhD who is a faculty member at the University of Missouri Medical School. Together with some colleagues at UMC's Counseling PhD program, we are in the process of developing such a specialty track. We also want to provide AASP certification as part of this degree program. To this point, our group includes a PhD. sport psychologist who also is the University's head track coach, another PhD. sport psychologist whose primary academic appointment is with the Counseling program, as well as a PhD clinical psychologist who provides our Department of Intercollegiate athletics (Big Twelve Member Institution) with all of its student-athlete couseling and psychotherapy services.

I played tennis in college and then coached for 2.5 years and have gained some experience in the field. I am extremely interested in pursuing a career in Sports Psychology. I graduated from Georgetown University in 1999 with a bachelor of arts in Psychology and English. I also played basketball there for all four years and just returned from Australia where I was playing semipro. I'm now interested in going to graduate school to further my career in psychology; however, Sports Psychology programs are hard to find.
