As an old Okie now in Phoenix I am glad awareness is growing back home. My son lives in OKC and many relatives are in the area. I am a year ahead of them with my preparations. Our Phoenix paper, the Republic, did 7 pages on y2k a week ago. If I had read with no prior y2k knowledge I would have been a GI immediately and be expecting more than a "dump" in the road. In no way did they ridicule people who are preparing.
