beautiful job of capturing the storm. i have had trouble getting this kind of thing on film. i wonder if you were able to get a slightly wider version- and then maybe crop a bit of the ocean off. just as it is it would look very nice on the wall- thanks for the post. greg

I agree with the previous post about cropping out a bit of the ocean...sure, it is a great tone and flows nicely with the shot, but I think that you might have a bit too much water in the shot when you compare it to the crop line in the upper-left. See how close the top of the image is to the break in the uppermost cloud? If there were a touch more cloud above there, and a little less water (also moving the horizon a little bit further away from the center of the frame)...but then again, it's your shot do with it what you want!

A great shot though, beautiful rendition of this scene...well done! Care to share the technical data?

I disagree about cropping off the bottom water. I really like the two wave crests in the lower right. Nice image thanks for posting it.

I disagree with Jason and Greg. I think the ocean on the right is necessary to help set the scene. I was thinking exactly the opposite, I wanted a little tiny bit more ocean. I would, however crop a little of the sea from the bottom, nothing else. Nice shot.

Thanks for the comments. I have a vertical shot from the same spot that I might post next week - I'd like to get comments on one vs. the other. Tech: Canon EOS Elan IIe, Canon 50mm, Fuji Superia Reala 100, exposure unrecorded

I agree with the "croppers"...the crests on the right bottom and the one crest to the left bottom don't really compliment any of the other elements of the picture. All that water ust doesn't proportion well with the upper part of the picture.

Cropping done, it is a lovely picture!
