Food for tourists

greenspun.com : LUSENET : About Hawaii : One Thread

Several years ago my inlaws rented a car on one of the islands and toured. They found it next to impossible to find a place that sold food? Is there still islands where tourists may have a car and find it hard to get lunch?

I think it's more of a problem of what you want to eat. There definitely aren't too many Dennys or IHOPs. With over 50 ethinicities represented in Hawaii, you have a lot of ethinic food places, but few of those Denny types. There are Mcdonalds and Burger Kings, etc., but the popular foods are Hawaiian, Japanese, Korean, or Chinese.
