IT'S ME AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Hello again all of my faithful message board readers. I would like to thank you all for the critical comments and names that you all have been giving to me! Secondly, and much more importantly, I decided to read the entire book of Time Bomb. I must say, it was actually informative. I found some parts paranoid and probably inconcievable, but for the most part, it was fairly interesting. There is one question that I do have. What happens to all the poor people in the world??? This is one question that is not addressed in this book. Throughout the book, Ed and Jennifer tell us to go out and "buy" or "stockpile" things. In one part, we are told that it would be a good idea to get a storage area to stockpile food. My question is, what do all the poor people or low income people to do? Are the solutions offered in this book only for those who have the means? Is Y2K meant to remove the lower class from our society??? If possible, I would like the author to respond to these questions. However, I would also like to hear any responses from all of you out there. Please feel free to contact me if you have any SENSIBLE answers.

The sensible answer is that Ed and Jenifer are getting rich selling a survival book/movie. They use fear to motivate you to take action and spend your money. Think about it... the act of stockpiling anything is obsseive and totally irrational. Feed the fire of fear and keep sending your $$$ to the Yourdon family. They will be loving you for it for the next thrity or forty years. And there won't be a shred of litigation because hey, you didn't HAVE to listen to them. it was your own free will. So wise up and keep your money. Spend it on YOUR family, not Ed's. ( And the likes of Ed. Gary North, Hyatt, De Jager and the rest of con artists )

No offense Travis, it's not anyone's responsibility to fend for the poor of the world (geeze, I'm gonna ruin my rep as one of them thar liberals). I personally believe I have my own moral obligation to help others who find it difficult to help themselves, but ultimately it's a game of survival. To be honest, as a poor person, I fear those that are rich in a worst case scenario. Some people have no idea how to function without tv's, vcr's, computers, nintendos, heat, air conditioning, cell phones, fast food restaurants, etc. and to top it off many live in such an insulated world they have full faith that the mythical "they" will get this problem taken care of. It is time for everyone to be responsible for themselves. If you can do that, it will be a huge step in the right direction. Once you've accepted your lot and can deal with it, branch out. Check on those that haven't made it yet.

BTW Y2K My @SS. Com, I have absolutely no moral obligation to help the unfortunate sick puppies of the world who hide behind veils while spewing forth hate-filled bullshit.

Lisa,

You 'da woMAN. I almost quit frequenting this site due to what I call the Paul Milne infection. My first read after a while off was "Kiss my Y2k@ss"?. To use his vernacular, he is a sick, little fuck on need of a good old country ass kicking. He is the second coming of Timothy Fonseca.

P.S. BigDog,

The poor are up the proverbial creek without a paddle. It is a cold world out there. Lets hope that Monica, Bill and Koskinen are looking out for the poor.

HEY YOU AGAIN!!!!!!!! Who you talking to?

Y2K isn't a plot to eliminate the poor. It's a plot to create more of them!

The rise of an increasing wealthy middle class has made it much harder for the traditional power elites to stay in power. And no way they can stand for the neuvau super-rich like Gates to accumulate more wealth and power than the old money. Hence Y2K will be allowed to happen to drain away the new wealth while the old establishements simply hang onto their traditional land and property holdings and return to supremacy in the post-Y2K world.

As for the rest of us, the poorer the poor are in relation to the rich, the easier it is for exploitation of the poor by the rich. Especially if there are no opportunities for the poor to become rich. The ways which exist now (innovative technolgy, niche market openings, room for entrepanuers) likely won't exist come Y2K.

Hi Travis,

the only folks I know of who are preparing to help poor people are various groups of Christians. if you want an excellent example of this try looking at

http://www.josephproject2000.org/

or

http://www.justpeace.org

warning! if you're not a theologically conservative Christian, I'd suggest you might want to avoid the second site. from their home page:

Rise up,

Judge of the Earth,

Give the proud what they deserve.

How long, Lord, shall the wicked glory?

How long will they mouth haughty speeches,

Go on boasting, all these eVildoers?

They crush your people, Lord,

They torment your very own.

They kill the widow and alien;

The fatherless they murder.

They say, "The Lord does not see;

The God of Jacob takes no notice."

Understand, you stUpid people!

You fools, when will you be wise?

Does the one who shaped the ear not hear?

The one who formed the eye not see?

Does the one who guides nations not rebuke?

The one who teaches man not have knowledge?

The Lord does know human plans,

They are only puffs of air.

OK! OK! Not supposed to tdo this but I cannot resist, flame me and tell me to "crawl back into my hole." Sorry hear it comes...(James 5:1 KJV) "Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you."

(James 5:2 KJV) "Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten."

(James 5:3 KJV) "Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days."

(James 5:4 KJV) "Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth."

(James 5:5 KJV) "Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter."

(James 5:6 KJV) "Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you."

I told you! Careful now! I like it Mikey!

"My question is, what do all the poor people or low income people to do?"

They can do what they've always done. Beg the government. The rich pay the gov. in taxes, so they've go plenty of money as usual. How do you beg the gov. about y2K prep you ask? Well, got a pencil? Have a phone?

Travis --If things go seriously bad, think "Reduction In Force." If nothing much happens, nothing much will change.

-- Tom Carey (tomcarey@mindspring.com), January 31, 1999.

Y2K is just another Government plan for population control. That is why they are not advising the population to stock up on food. Y2K will wipe out half the world population. The cemetaries will not be able to handle the increase in business. Most people will be buried in their backyards and empty fields. Once Y2K is over, no more traffic jams on the freeways! Real Estate will be at rock bottom prices because of excessive amounts of empty houses. There will be a glut in used cars, also at rock bottom prices. Will it be a better world because of Y2K? Only time will tell.......One thing for sure, the IRS will be out of our life FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is that good? YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-- Freddie the freeloader (Anonymous@aol.com), January 31, 1999.

Freddy, You also most know too much concerning the reduction of the population, you have remember that AIDS and CANCER and EBLOA are all money making businesses NOW. But check out their origin ,your wording is corect, Good luck

-- EBE (roswell47@majestik.com), January 31, 1999.

Since my money is taken from me involuntarily to pay for welfare, then I have met my obligations to the poor. They get free housing, medical, dental, utilities and food. A mother with two children gets $400 a month in food stamps. The lower class that you speak of are doing better than some middle class people that I know. The poor get to sleep in everyday, then it's time for the Jerry Springer show, then they high tail it down to The Mission Lighthouse for free lunch, then back to the free pad in time for Oprah, then down to the Salvation Army for dinner. They sold some of their food stamps for cigs and beer and they use what's left for Cocoa Puffs, Oreo's, and Ben and Jerry Ice Cream to satisfy their munchies after getting stoned on their dope. Yeh, it's really tough being poor. I have seen it all and it pisses me off!

Freddie,

The sad thing is that you may actually be correct.
