Can you walk from one side of the island to the other?

Answers

Following the roads, you could, but it might take you a while. The shortcut across the Big Island is about 90 miles and over the volcano. If you didn't want to follow the roads, it would be very difficult to go over the steep mountains (thousands of feet straight up).
