Has anyone had a chance to test this lens yet? It looks quite nice(and farely inexpensive). AF speed? Sharpness?

Yes it does look nice. If its anything like it's 70-200 EX 2.8 older brother then it should be a great value. Can you believe the price? WOW!

I use the Sigma as my main lense on a Canon A2. It has worked fine so far although the AF speed and noise are blown away by my Canon 300f4 and its ultrasonic motor. I got mine from Smile Camera for $285 about six months ago. I think it would be a great lense if it had the HSM technology.

I have this lense on my EOS 3 and love it. I am going to get the 70 - 200 EX, HSM soon. Very sharp well constructed lense. No comparison to the Sigma of old. Highly recommended.
