Froth on the Daydream

Vincent, L'Ecume des jours was translated by Stanley Chapman as Froth on the Daydream. There is a review here http://www.toadshow.com.au/rob/vian/vian_froth.htm and there is some general information about translations here http://www.toadshow.com.au/rob/vian/trans/index.htm. You will be able to buy Vian Translations from the online bookstore Amazon. Just search for Boris Vian here http://www.amazon.com

There is also an 'American' translation that was published by Grove in the Sixties called "Mood Indigo." Froth on the Daydream is a British translation. My only problem with that translation is when they mentioned a filmmaker by the name of Jacques Goon Luddard, for pun on the name Jean-Luc Godard. The only problem is ... the novel was written in the 40's and Godard wasn't known during that time. But overall both translations are good!
