When did Teri start drawing?

Answers

Teri started drawing in 1979. She is mostly self-taught, but has attended the Academy of Arts and taken private lessons on a continuing basis from Louis Pohl. During the early 1980's, with the encouragement of friends and relatives, she began to sell her originals in galleries on Oahu and Maui. She took a break from drawing to start her family and when her children reached school age, she began to draw again.

I am not currently taking any classes. Our kids are elementary and middle school. For beginners, my only suggestion is to draw what you love. I know it's hard to do that when taking classes, but for me it has always been easiest to draw flowers and animals because I love them.

Does Teri still take classes? How old are the kids? Any suggestions to beginners that would help encourage others to draw that have "hidden" talent?
