Friends, relatives, and coworkers help to celebrate a child's first birthday. It is held on or after the child's birthday for good luck as it celebrates that the child has survived the dangers of the their first year. Like weddings, parents can spend thousands of dollars on the food, drinks, and rental of a hall or hotel.
