Location for photographing Lotus

Is there any place in Singapore that grows Lotus? I want to take some photos of it that looks like the classic Chinese painting.
I won't mind venturing to Malaysia too.

When I lived in Singapore, I loved the lotus in the Botanical Garden.

I've been to Botanic Garden but can't find the type of Lotus that I want.
There are indeed some water lili in Botanic Garden but not the Lotus with big fat pinkish petal.

I did chance upon a little Lotus pond in a little park along Tiong Bahru Road. A bus stop from Tiong Bahru MRT.

The other is a little landscaped garden with a Lotus pond outside the main Sungei Buloh building.

But......... the ponds at both locations are far from looking like classic Chinese painting.

Well, if the shutterbug hits you before the travelbug does, there should be quite a number of places in Thailand with Lotus Ponds. :)

cheers, Jean

The pond at the entrance of Sungei Buloh Bird Santuary in Kranji has a lot of lotus (White coloured ones). Wonder if you have seen them? I am sure they are still there since my last visit probably two years back. Good luck.

You may want to visit the Mandai Orchid Garden. There's a pond filled with pink lotus plants. Quite a number of them. Pay a visit. You won't regret it.

closer to city try the small pond west-side of K K Hospital. Come in the late afternoon or early morning you'll see lotus in beutiful bloom.

There are several type of lotus and what's displayed above isn't the type of lotus that I'm looking for.

I've been to the Mandai Orchid Garden as recommended above and it indeed has a small pond of lotus. Those lotus grow really tall, almost up to my chest level (I'm 1.8m). Depending on the location of the blooming lotus, working distance could be very short and you don't really need a long lens like 400mm.

There are lotus in (at least) a couple of places in the bot. gardens. The ones in the lotus pond are pretty dismal. There were some others in the "moat" that surrounds the orchestra stage further in (down the hill from the orchid spot you have to pay for).
