New edition of Time Bomb 2000?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Ed's website says his new edition of Time Bomb 2000 has gone to the printers (this is as of Nov 28 1998). Any idea when we'll see it on the shelves at Amazon or elsewhere? I would like to be able to give copies of this book to relatives and friends, but want to wait for the new edition. Can you give us a date Ed?

Amazon is accepting orders for the book, but obviously can't ship until they get their hands on it; at that point, I assume it's first-come, first-served.

As far as I know, Prentice-Hall is still on schedule to have the book "in stock" on Jan 20th -- a week from tomorrow. The term "in stock" means that it's in their warehouse, and they're ready to start fulfilling orders. They will have advance orders from several of the large bookstores like Amazon and Barnes & Noble, but it will probably take a week or two for the orders to get fulfilled, shipped, processed, and then placed on the shelves of your favorite bookstore.

I think you can order directly from Prentice-Hall, and that might be a little fast until they get the books moving through the "pipeline" to all of their distributors.

P.S. There's a JPEG image of the cover of the new edition on my top- level page at http://www.yourdon.com
