Titanic History {Thoughts on the subject}

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TitanicShack : One Thread

Ok Gang.. If you want to get going, then look beyond the movie because it is a subject that won't go away. I have said this before and I will say it again: The film was great but the event was unbelievable. Look at it, study it and comment on it here and you will never regret it. This is about more than a great movie. It's about history, it's about controversy, and it's about human tragedy. If you have some thoughts on this, please post them and we can all get into a discussion about it. Just a suggestion.

Regards, Peter

Response to Titanic History

For some reason I'm reminded of when Brock Lovett tells Rose's granddaughter he "never let it in." I have always been interested in the story of Titanic, but the movie provided two people with whom to identify and make it real. I cannot begin to imagine how those passengers felt, both the ones who were alive long enough to go down with the ship, and the ones who watched from the lifeboats! I always run through a variety of feelings when I watch the movie, like when I get so mad at all those snobs! And I feel sorry for the 3rd class. And all of these different people experienced the event together.
