Beautiful sky. I like the silky texture in the sky. I feel there is too much empty foreground. Some cropping will enhance the impact of this picture. Did you use a ND filter?

Bhaskar, I looked at it before I posted, with the bottom cropped off but I decided it needed the extra water at the bottom to balance the top. Could you tell it was the ocean at the bottom? Maybe I should have made it lighter. Thanks for your comment.

Beautiful sky, a nice dip in the range to cradle the emerging sun, but the water seems weak. Did conditions improve as the sun got a little higher?

Larry, I thought the relections in the ocean of the sunrise was interesting in this shot. I am not sure what makes a good sunrise\sunset shot when so many have been shot. I think you need something more than just the sky to be interesting. I shot this out the window of a jet in the last moments of landing so I didn't get much time. I have four other shots. What did you have in mind that the scene might have looked like if "conditions improved"?

More light on the water. Couldn't you ask the pilot to "go around"? Nice shot for the conditions.

OK, here is the shot with more reflection in the water, but it does not have the blue and purple in the sky. Do think it is a better image of the scene? http://www.alaska.net/~kellys/Sunrise2.jpg

Thanks
