Every major race is represented in Hawaii. We have over 50 ethnic groups sharing their customs, food, and traditions. So if you like to try different foods, this is the place to be. Caucasians make up about 33% of the populations, followed by Japanese (23%), Filipino (15%), Hawaiian (13%), others (10%), and Chinese (6%).

According to the 2000 Census, the breakdown is as follows, for people declaring one race: Asian 41.6% white 24.3% Hawaiian/Pac Islander 9.4% Black/African American 1.8%

21.4% of the population declared two or more races.
