How much have you spent on Y2K and has it hurt your lifestyle? Have you run out of space to store your goods?

The precise amount is nobody's business but my own - the FDIC's KYC program notwithstanding. Suffice it to say 'a significant amount'. Has it 'hurt my lifestyle'? No, not at all. In fact, if disruptions of any serverity at all do occur, it has helped to ensure my quality of life.

But has it change my lifestyle? Dramatically -- and for the better I might add. I give much more thought to the waste I create and try to create less. I give much more thought to the energy I use and try to use less. I give more thought to conservation of existing resources. I put much more thought into being less reliant on the 'machines of our lives'. I learned more about fractional reserve banking than I ever wanted to know before - and what I've seen is absolute negligence bordering on being criminal. I've begun putting much more into my 'food bank', my 'fuel bank', my 'water bank', my 'winter clothes bank', my 'knowledge bank' and far , far less into my fractional reserve bank and my speculation bank.

Regardless of how Y2K turns out, I see many of these things as changes for the better and doubt there is any 'going back'. With preparation comes peace of mind and more than a little empowerment.

I really don't know how much money I've spent to date Bubba. (Are you by any chance from East Texas?) Like Arnie, though, what I have spent has forced me and my family to look at our entire existence in a different manner. It really hasn't negatively affected our lifestyle. Had we not spent money on the wherewithall we think we'll need, we probably would have spent it on something frivolous. For Christmas, I requested--and got--useful items: a pair of walkie-talkies, coveralls, work boots. I suspect a lot of others like us did the same.

I have spent so much money my wallet hurts i have no more room i will have to build a new cabin next month. Do not ask these people on this forum a question like that again because they are a bunch of assholes who will give you a smartass answer because they do not know how to count past 10. Bubba you scare me because people like you ride around in your truck after Y2K and spit tobacco out the window and shoot at everything that moves these people on here are not smart enough to hide from you redneck peckerwoods they are only tough no the net they will be road kill...Cowboy

I haven't spent that much money, cause I don't have that much. But I do have lots of food, medicine, supplies, etc. stocked up. It took me 6 months to gather what I have and I will keep doing it.

I have TOTALLY run out of room to store this stuff. I don't know where I'm going to put things real soon now...!

i've been preparing since last summer - so far spent about $3,000 - that's about all i can do until i get some more wood. hasn't hurt my lifestyle, unless you count not eating out and not buying new clothes and not going on a vacation......
