I am thinking of climbing this route on the Mt Blanc du Tacul in August/September 1999 (with a guide) and would appreciate any information on past experiences, opinions about the nature and difficulty of the climbing, feasibility of a one day ascent, and suggestions on training climbs in the Sierras to help me get ready.

My understanding is that this is a very long, but not technically very difficult climb. you should concentrate on climbing fast. it is normally done in the day. if you take bivy gear, you'll climb slower, have a harder time, and then bivy.
