Y2k - Front Page Newsgreenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread |
More Austinites may soon be getting it...Today's Austin (Un)American Statesman front page devoted 3/4 of it to y2k...including three more related stories.
Compared to other news articles, the writers didn't make the GI's out to be loonies.
The paper has a web site at www.statesman.com
Click on "Countdown to crash?" for all four stories.

The Des Moines Register had a front page article yesterday and will continue the series this week. Not a bad article - can't wait to see the rest of the story.

Terry- hi. Hey, just got back from speaking to the Rotary Club in Lago Vista re Y2K, it was a ROARING success. Oddly, I didn't get stage fright at all, and they were paying extreme attention and asking the right questions. Interesting attendees: LCRA, LV's District Superintendent, City Manager, others. On the 17th, (email for details), we're having a LV Y2K community meeting. Announcement comes out in today's North Lake Travis Log. Lakeway's Y2K people are attending - Did you know Dan Rather has a house in Lakeway? Come check out what an initial community 2000 meeting looks like!
For you non-Austinites, sorry to use forum as a personal advertisment. Don't have her real email address.
