Hi, I thought you might like to see who I am writing to and what I am writing about.

Any idea how soon we can have some discussion about Y2k (Y2000) at our ABC meeting? I need to let others in our community, city, county, state and nation know what we are doing as a community group.

We now have only 12 meetings left before Y2k. Our citizens deserve to know what is happening.

Mr. Farr, My name is Richard Bloom. I live at 5060 Barger Dr.. I am the father of 5 and have 5 grandchildren, I am 45 years old. I would like to know what our city council is doing about Y2K preparations. If you haven't yet, please check out what another locality in Oregon is doing. Rogue Valley - Y2k - Task Force

I was quite amazed to see what is happening in the Medford/Ashland area, compared to our area. Don't we owe it to our seniors and anyone else on a fixed income, dependent upon national & state infrastructure and operations for their livelihoods and survival, to let them know what is going on. We must provide them a local source of timely, honest and forthright information, from which they may make their own discussions, preparations and contingency plans.

EWEB has stated, publicly, "they will be able to maintain, local core services," i.e.. electricity, water and sewer, but what about the rest of us. The south-hills may not back up for days, I and many others in our ward are at the valley floor. How long do you think it will take for the sewers to back up into our houses?

If the grocery stores, which now operate on a "Right Now" inventory system, can't receive or place orders for their products, what is everyone going to eat?

These are just two questions of thousands that you, the council and all of us must, MUST, look at, discuss and plan for. I truly believe, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure," do you? Why is there no local place to get straight answers when asked? How much has been budgeted for a "strategy planning or Contingency plan"?

Y2000 is coming. Technology, systems and things, we depend on, ARE GOING TO BREAKDOWN ! We don't know how badly or for how long. We can no longer keep our heads in the sand. We must prevent panic. If our "Leaders" and "Elected Officials" don't do their jobs on this, we will all suffer the consequences.

Noah was given 100 years to build God's ark. Joseph was given time to store food for his kingdom. We have only a year. Please let me know how I can help. This can not wait.

Thank you for your time.

God Bless and have a Safe Holiday Season.
