Sou 2262

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Southern Railway : One Thread

Hello,

I'm looking for information on Southern Railway NW2 #2262. The unit was built in 1947.

I'd like to find out how many times this unit was renumbered. I'd also like to find out what its final number actually was. If anyone knows the status of this unit, mechanically, or otherwise, I'd appreciate that as well. Basically, I'm wondering if this unit's final number was 1053. If not, anyone that can help me out with finding out the original road number of 1053 (an NW2), it would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any assistance in this matter.

HELLO., MY FATHER WAS THE ENGINEER ON NW-2 2262 FOR YEARS. HE WORKED AT MEMPHIS, TN. AT THE SOUTHERN'S FORREST YARD. HE RETIRED IN 1972. AS OF THAT TIME THE ENGINE WAS STILL NUMBERED 2262. I AM LOOKING FOR PICTURES THAT SOMEONE COULD E-MAIL ME OF THE 2262. DO YOU HAVE ANY. TNANKS.
