As the FEMA primarily plans to feed people in mass feeding stations rather than distributing food to people (read this on their website) How do you trust your government to run these logistic nightmares of refugee camps should it be a matter of nearly EVERYONE a hungry refugee amidst prolonged infrastructure collapse? Is it beyond human history and experience to anticipate that what starts as a compassionate effort could, in the interest of preserving peace and order degenerate into barbed wire compounds (as we have seen refugee centers become all over the world) Where those in control who have to make hard decisions about who should survive when the population they harbor abandons all responsibility to their keepers for their survival, may decide it expedient to "manage the number of citizens served" for the greater good of the many, arrange for excess citizenry to be disposed of to prevent anarchy and the loss of government control of the situation. Impossible? What Say?

actually Ann, you're confusing two issues here. The camps exist, but there aren't that many of them and they simply aren't that big. As such they're reserved for troublemakers, insurrectionists, resisters, in other words folks just like us.

The FEMA distribution plan is to set up centralized feeding locations generally serviced out of large warehouses, etc. The idea is to move people around as little as possible, maintaining order by giving people virtually nowhere to go and no means to get there...no need to lock you up, just don't give you any easy way to get out of your own neighborhood.

Arlin's scenario makes a lot of sense from a logistics standpoint, having had something to do with the local ARC shelter inventory and shelter protocols. You don't move people around a lot. it is MUCH easier to move food, and to distribute it through feeding stations in specific neighborhoods, areas in a city, etc.

Think about it. You move food in semi-trailers to major warehouses, and split them for smaller local distribution points, it goes to local kitchens and then to dispersal points. It's a BIG pyramid with the minimum number of people involved, NO "insurrectionist" downside. (think about the results of trying to load a neighborhood onto a bus to go to a shelter, whether they really wanted to go or not, and how long the guards would last.)

Too many of us have seen the documents, or had relatives who SAW the holocaust, and the camps to get on the train.

My mom's brother was 8th AAF Inteligence. He was the 4th or 5th Allied Soldier into Dachau and Buchenwald. Nobody in the family understood why he went through 9 cars in 6 months after the war, until he sat down and explained it to her.( All of the cars were totaled in high speed crashes, which he walked away from. A fact no one understands to this day.)

Dear Ann,

Your post made me homesick. I almost died from a rotten ear as a baby because a Nazi doctor would not certify this, to allow me to go to a hospital. When he finally did, and my mother finally found someone to drive us there, a Nazi guard would not let us into the city.

After WWII we travelled in boxcars and coalcars across Germany. It took seven days. It was an experience much like the railroad scene in "Dr. Zhivago."

I would expect from a logistics standpoint, that FEMA would use the move the food to the people method, rather than ship the people to the food. However, it is a possibility that they might employ both methods to cope with the percieved problem.

I can tell you that I won't be getting on any bus/truck to be herded somewhere. Once you are in their compound/camp, they have control over you, and frankly, I don't trust the govt to not commit attrocities against helpless citizens.

People like us, who are educated, knowledgeable, and a possible threat to their agenda will simply be disposed of.

I understand a co. in Portland OR is building rail cars w/shackles in them, and some of the work is done at a Montana site also. Guillotines anyone ? Several hundred have been imported, as like BillClo says corrrectly, they will just dispose of troublemakers. Well, the g-tines will be to save organs for transplant.
