British govt says stockpile... What about our's??

The British govt has told its citizens to stockpile two weeks worth of food... Wonder if the U.S. government will give it's own citizens the same warning to prepare?? My own personal opinion is that US politicians are the biggest corporate puppets in the whole world!!! and all we will ever hear is "it will be ok"

My US $0.02 is that A- you're pretty correct in the assumption that elements of the US government are probably quite "owned," and B- as is so often the case, those that saw the "writing on the wall" and planned accordingly are the only ones that are going to truly be ready...

I intend to prepare as I would for a hurricane or similar large-scale disaster whose approach is seen in advance. Doing nothing at all would be idiotic...

(PS - I'm a WebMaster and commercial software developer. My machines are as Y2K-ready as they'll ever get and I've spent months testing them to make sure of that. If only the rest of Earth were as prepared...)

This is possibly the most important news article on Y2K up to this point, and yet there is not one mention of it in mainstream news organizations. I scanned UPI, AP, and Reuters to see if this story had been picked up. NOPE! Let's face it, the only impediment to one world government is the U.S Constitution and an armed populace. What better way to subvert the Constitution than a national emergency. Do I believe the Elites would allow multi-millions to starve to reach their goal. Yes I do, history is filled with famine used as a tool of war. So no, I don't believe our present administration will issue a similar warning.

It may not have been reported much here, because the British politician that made the statement retracted it very quickly. The original quote was lengthy, though, so I don't see how it could have been taken out of context, as claimed.

The quick retraction illustrates why we don't hear (or see) much straight talk in public. Gwynneth Flower wouldn't have retracted it on her own.

Whoever's making these decisions is either trapped in some bassackwards logic or is deliberately working against the public good, or possibly both. Based on what our fearless leader and our duly elected representatives in Congress have focused on all year, there's little hope for remediation of that problem.

Just a thought that's crossing my mind at the moment. Couldn't it be that the US and UK have known for quite a while that this strike on Saddam would be coming, and so did not want to start a panic and depress the economy? I mean think of it, if the leaders of both UK and US went out to warn the public to prepare for Y2k, the stempede and panic we've all been anticipating would surely have started. Bank runs. Wars need strong economy. Panicky and upset people. Wars need a united nation.

This cat and mouse with Saddam has been going on for quite a while. It takes time to prepare the military for a successful strike. Tactics have to be devised, troups mobilized and prepared, resources acquired and put in place. The decision and implementation last month to deploy the military machine into the gulf wasn't made overnight, it had to have taken several months.

Isn't it fair to say that the US and UK have been keeping quiet publicly in enticipation of this Operation Desert Fox?

The powers that be are engineering the y2k emergencies (or other events even sooner) so they can confiscate our guns, put the emergency powers into effect, abandon the Constitution, and enslave us. Cheerio, everyone!
